World Music Conservatory Founders
World Music Conservatory is a music academy offering a music curriculum to study and practice classical and contemporary forms of music in both the Indian and Western genres.
WMC was founded in the year 2008 by the renowned percussionist Gopi (Drummer Gopi), Carnatic vocalist Sangeetha Srikishen and management consultant Sathish Varadharajan.
Drummer Gopi
Gopi was born into a family of musicians.
As an infant, Gopi showed a keen interest in music and used to accompany his father (a Mridangam player) to temple concerts where he played the cymbals.
He later went on to formally study and play the Tabla.
Gopi has a vast collection of percussion instruments he acquired while traveling worldwide for performances.
In his musical journey, Gopi has been fortunate to learn under the eminent guidance of teachers like Pandit Suresh Talwalkar and the percussion maestro Trilok Gurtu.
Today Gopi is considered one of the most accomplished percussionists at WMC.
He has also performed with Manna Dey, Adnan Sami, and Sukhwinder Singh, who’ve all performed for Bollywood music directors – Sajid Wajid, Anu Malik, and Nadeem Shravan.
Sangeetha Srikishen
Sangeetha Srikishen is a Carnatic vocalist and entrepreneur who began her musical journey at the tender age of 5.
Along with her violinist mother, Sangeetha Srikishen used to lead SAI BHAJANS at various religious gatherings.
A postgraduate in music from Mysore University, Sangeetha Srikishen had the excellent opportunity to be tutored by some of India’s finest musicians during her musical journey.
