A2 Hosting

★★★

Their faster tiers are genuinely quicker than typical shared hosting. At that price you are close to managed hosting territory.

BEST FOR
Shared hosting where speed matters more than the lowest price

What it is

A2 Hosting is a shared and VPS host whose distinguishing feature is its Turbo tiers, which run on LiteSpeed servers with fewer accounts per machine.

The performance claim is real. Turbo plans are measurably faster than standard shared hosting, mainly because of LiteSpeed and lower density.

The awkwardness is price: by the time you have bought a Turbo plan, you are within reach of Cloudways, which is faster still.

What it does

Standard shared hosting on the cheaper plans, and LiteSpeed-powered hosting on Turbo tiers where the LiteSpeed Cache plugin can do server-level caching for free.

cPanel throughout, free SSL, free site migration, and an anytime money-back guarantee that is unusually generous.

Their support is technically stronger than most budget hosts, which is worth something when a problem is genuinely yours to fix.

Standard tiers are unremarkable. The whole case for A2 rests on Turbo.

Who it's for

01People wanting shared hosting that is genuinely quick.
02WordPress sites that will use LiteSpeed Cache.
03Anyone who wants cPanel with better than average performance.
04Sites with modest traffic and a speed requirement.
05Users who value a no-deadline refund guarantee.

Pros and cons

PROS

LiteSpeed Cache gives free server-level caching.
Technically competent support.
Anytime refund policy.
Free migrations handled properly.
CONS
Turbo pricing approaches managed hosting cost.
Standard tiers are unremarkable.
Interface and site feel dated.
Renewal increases apply as usual.
Cloudways is faster at similar money.

Pricing

PLAN WHAT YOU GET WORTH IT FOR
Startup One site, standard tier. Not the reason to choose A2.
Drive Multiple sites, standard tier. Several small sites.
Turbo Boost LiteSpeed, fewer accounts per server. The tier worth buying.
Turbo Max More resources on the same fast stack. Busier sites staying on shared hosting.

Only the Turbo tiers justify choosing A2. Compare the Turbo price against Cloudways before committing to a term.

MY RECOMMENDED PLAN

Turbo Boost with LiteSpeed Cache configured, or spend the same money on Cloudways for better performance and scaling.

Alternatives

Cloudways
Faster and more scalable at comparable cost.
Hostinger
Cheaper, nearly as quick, friendlier panel.
DreamHost
Fairer pricing at slightly lower performance.
Kinsta
When the site earns enough to justify managed hosting.

My verdict

A2's Turbo tiers do what they claim: shared hosting that feels fast, largely thanks to LiteSpeed and lower server density. Paired with the free LiteSpeed Cache plugin, a well-built WordPress site on Turbo performs well above its price bracket.

The problem is the comparison one tier up. At Turbo prices, Cloudways gives you better performance, real scaling and no shared-resource ceiling, so A2 sits in an awkward middle.

Choose it if you specifically want cPanel and LiteSpeed on shared hosting. Otherwise the money is better spent elsewhere.
