GetResponse

★★★★

A capable all-rounder whose real differentiator is built-in webinars. Solid rather than exceptional at email itself.

BEST FOR
Businesses wanting email, landing pages and webinars in one place

What it is

GetResponse is an email marketing platform that has expanded into landing pages, funnels, webinars, forms and basic e-commerce features.

Email is competent and unremarkable. The reason to consider it is the surrounding features, particularly webinars, which no comparable email platform includes.

If you run webinars and send email, this replaces two subscriptions with one, and that is the whole argument.

What it does

Email campaigns with a decent editor, automation workflows built on a visual builder, and segmentation that covers normal requirements.

Webinars hosted natively, with registration pages, reminder emails and recordings, which is genuinely unusual in an email platform.

Landing pages and funnels with conversion tracking, adequate for lead magnets and simple sales sequences.

Their AI features generate campaigns and subject lines, and like most such additions they produce serviceable starting points rather than finished work.

Who it's for

01Businesses running regular webinars.
02Coaches and course sellers needing registration and follow-up in one place.
03Companies wanting email, pages and funnels from one vendor.
04Teams replacing three tools with one subscription.
05Businesses with international lists needing multi-language support.

Features

Email automation
Visual workflow builder with behavioural triggers.
Built-in webinars
Hosting, registration, reminders and recordings.
Landing pages and funnels
Conversion-tracked pages for lead generation.
Forms and pop-ups
List building included.
E-commerce features
Product recommendations and abandoned cart.
AI campaign tools
Generated campaigns and subject lines.

Pros and cons

PROS
Webinars included, which is rare and valuable.
Genuine all-in-one for email, pages and funnels.
Decent automation builder.
Long-established with reliable deliverability.
Free tier for testing.
CONS
Email features no better than cheaper rivals.
Webinar attendee limits by tier.
Interface feels dated in places.
More expensive than MailerLite for email alone.
Feature breadth means average depth.

Pricing

PLAN WHAT YOU GET WORTH IT FOR
Free Limited contacts and features. Testing.
Email Marketing Core email and automation. Email only, though rivals are cheaper.
Marketing Automation Full automation, webinars, funnels. The tier that justifies the platform.
Ecommerce Marketing Store features and recommendations. Online retailers.

Priced by contact count and tier. Only worth it above the Email Marketing tier, where the webinars and automation live.

MY RECOMMENDED PLAN

The Marketing Automation tier, and only if you will genuinely use the webinars. For email alone, MailerLite costs less and does it more cleanly.

Alternatives

MailerLite
Cheaper and cleaner for email alone.
Kit
Better for content-led email and creators.
Zoom plus MailerLite
Two better tools for less, if webinars are occasional.
ActiveCampaign
Deeper automation without webinars.

My verdict

GetResponse is a reasonable platform with one genuinely distinctive feature. Built-in webinars with registration and follow-up handled in the same system is convenient in a way that no email-only platform matches.

Judged purely on email, it is beaten on price by MailerLite and on clarity by Kit. So the decision comes down to whether webinars are part of how you sell.

If they are, this is a sensible consolidation. If they are not, you are paying for a feature you will never open.
