What it is

Moosend is an email marketing platform offering campaigns, automation, landing pages and forms at prices below most of the better-known options.

It includes automation on its entry paid tier, which several rivals reserve for higher plans, and that is its main practical advantage.

It is a competent platform with a small profile, which means fewer tutorials and a smaller community when something goes wrong.

What it does

Campaign building with a drag-and-drop editor, scheduling and A/B testing at a standard comparable to its rivals.

Automation recipes cover the common workflows, welcome, abandoned cart, re-engagement, with a visual builder that is straightforward if unremarkable.

Landing pages and subscription forms are included, so list building does not need another tool.

Reporting includes heatmaps on email clicks, which is a nice touch and more useful than it sounds when working out whether people reach your call to action.

Who it's for

01Small businesses wanting automation on a cheap tier.
02Anyone who found MailerLite's approval process difficult.
03Businesses with straightforward email needs and a tight budget.
04E-commerce stores wanting basic abandoned cart cheaply.
05People comparing value options seriously.

Pros and cons

PROS

Genuinely low pricing.
Click heatmaps are a useful extra.

CONS

Deliverability reporting is thin.
Less certain long-term roadmap than larger players.

Pricing

PLAN WHAT YOU GET WORTH IT FOR
Free trial Full access for a limited period. Testing properly.
Pro Automation, landing pages, unlimited sends. Most users. The main tier.
Enterprise Custom limits, SSO and support. Large senders.
Pay as you go Credits for infrequent sending. Occasional campaigns.

Priced by subscriber count and among the cheapest with automation included. Compare directly against MailerLite at your list size.

MY RECOMMENDED PLAN

The Pro tier at your subscriber count, after using the free trial to build a welcome sequence and confirm the editor suits you.

Alternatives

MailerLite
Better documented, similar price, larger community. My default.
Brevo
Better if you hold a large list and send rarely.
Kit
Better for content-led email and creators.
Klaviyo
Necessary for serious e-commerce.

My verdict

Moosend is a genuinely cheap platform that includes automation where several rivals charge more for it. For a small business wanting a welcome sequence and monthly campaigns without spending much, it does the job.

Its weakness is not the software, it is the ecosystem. When you hit a problem, there are far fewer tutorials and forum answers than for MailerLite or Mailchimp, and that costs time.

I would still default to MailerLite for the community and documentation. Moosend is the sensible second look if something about MailerLite does not fit.
