What it is

OceanWP is a free multipurpose WordPress theme with a large set of customiser options and unusually good WooCommerce integration for a free product.

It works with page builders and the block editor, and its paid extensions are sold individually rather than as one bundle.

It is a decent middle option: more built in than a minimal theme, less refined than Kadence or Blocksy.

What it does

Extensive customiser settings cover header layouts, typography, colours and blog layouts without needing a paid upgrade.

WooCommerce support is genuinely strong for a free theme: cart behaviour, product page layouts and a floating cart included.

Demo imports give you a designed starting point, with the usual caveat that they may pull in page builder dependencies.

Its weakness is weight. It ships more CSS and JavaScript than the leaner themes, and the settings sprawl means it is easy to end up with a slower site than you needed.

My verdict

OceanWP is a solid free theme whose main claim is WooCommerce support that usually costs money elsewhere. For a small store on a tight budget, that is a real argument.

Outside that case, Kadence and Blocksy give you a lighter site with better free header controls, and GeneratePress is faster still. OceanWP's weight is not disqualifying and it is not competitive either.

If you already run it and the site is quick enough, leave it. If you are choosing now and do not need the Woo features, choose something lighter.
