Ever felt like your regular weekday needed a little escapism? I sure did.
Until I stumbled upon the Bhartiya Mall of Bengaluru.
Tucked away in Bhartiya City, right off Thanisandra Main Road, this mall has quickly become one of my favorite spots in North Bangalore.
And trust me, I’ve done my fair share of “mall-crawling” in this city.
What makes Bhartiya Mall different is that it isn’t just a place where you pop in, buy a pair of jeans, and rush out. Nope.
This is more like a mini-city inside a city.
Imagine stepping into a place where you can shop till your legs give up, grab food from literally every cuisine under the sun, catch a movie, relax in a park (yes, a park inside the mall!), and then wind down on a rooftop terrace under the stars.
It’s like a holiday destination that just happens to have all your favorite brands and eateries.
Bhartiya Mall of Bengaluru isn’t just a mall—it’s an experience. From shopping and dining to parks and terraces, it’s where Bangaloreans go when they want it all under one roof.
When I first walked in, I wasn’t sure what to expect.
But within minutes, I felt like I’d been transported out of my weekday routine and into what I can only call a “happiness bubble.”
The sheer variety here is mind-boggling.
Over 150 stores and 20+ eateries, plus open-air terraces, green spaces, and entertainment corners.
Whether you’re a hardcore shopaholic, a family looking for a kid-friendly day out, a foodie chasing your next indulgence, or even someone who just wants to hang out in a pleasant space, this mall has you covered.
And because it’s relatively new (opened in 2021), it still feels fresh, modern, and thoughtfully designed.
I didn’t get the cramped, chaotic vibe some older malls give off.
Instead, it’s airy, spacious, and easy to navigate.
Basically, I could spend an entire day here without once looking at my watch, and that’s exactly what I did.
So, if you’re wondering where to go for your next weekend plan (or heck, even to spice up a dull Wednesday), let me take you on a walkthrough of my experience at the Bhartiya Mall of Bengaluru.
From the first sip of coffee at Starbucks to window shopping on High Street, all the way to sunset views from the Terrace, here’s everything you need to know before you head out.

First Impressions (and Getting There)

(Source: Bhartiya Mall of Bengaluru Facebook Page)
After weaving through Bhartiya City, I parked (no sweat – plenty of space and even free 2-wheeler parking) and walked up to the mall entrance.
The facade has a modern vibe that reminded me of those sleek high-end malls abroad, all glass and steel.
The exterior of Bhartiya Mall feels grand and inviting, almost like stepping into a modern holiday resort.
Once inside, I was instantly struck by the light and openness.
Huge skylights and an atrium (almost dome-shaped) let natural light flood in. It felt more like a sunlit plaza than a closed-in mall.
It’s reminiscent of that dome atrium shot you see in upscale malls: high glass ceilings, open walkways, and space to breathe.
I actually paused for a second, lifted my face up, and just enjoyed the warmth of the sunbeam streaming through the glass roof.
And boy, did the place have ambience!
The air carried a mix of chattering families, the faint smell of coffee from upstairs, and distant tunes from a live performer warming up near the food Terrace.
The layout is spread out (you rarely feel squashed), with parks and open plazas in between, so even at peak hour it never felt claustrophobic.
It’s exactly the kind of vibe I want when I say, “I’m on vacation… but I’m at a mall.”
Terrace Tales: Dining Under the Sky

(Source: Bhartiya Mall of Bengaluru Facebook Page)
Walking a bit further, I was drawn to the Terrace. It’s like a charming little street-food hangout atop the mall.
Street food, treat food, cheat food, literally every kind of munchable you can think of.
There are food trucks, kiosks, and cafes with outdoor seating under the sky.
On a sunny afternoon or cool evening (Bangalore’s weather is great that way), this is the place to hang out.
I shared a table with some breezy couches and watched DJ Snake play on the big screen (yes, they do gigs up here!).
I treated myself to a shawarma and cold brew from the food trucks, all while enjoying the gentle Bangalore breeze.
Surrounding me were families sampling naan wraps from Tavuk Grill and chai-n-snacks from Chaat Adda; a couple on a date sharing gelato from Baskin-Robbins; a group of friends high-fiving after snagging Beer Bhai’s mango beer on tap.
The Terrace feels cheerful and relaxed.
As the mall’s tagline hints, it really did turn my Saturday into a mini-holiday out on that rooftop, and believe me, I needed no convincing to stay out under the stars.
(Side note: I even spotted a cactus plant in a decorative pot. I love how it’s attention to detail – even random plants here look Instagrammable.)
Feast Mode: The Food Court

(Source: Bhartiya Mall of Bengaluru Facebook Page)
After the Terrace, I descended toward the central zone. Time for the indoor Food Court.
Think of it as an “oasis of flavour”: big, open seating, air-conditioned comfort, and not one but ten different kitchen counters serving everything from biryani to burgers.
On my first pass, I went local.
A tasty plate of Karnataka-style biryani from MTR Express (yes, the classic restaurant brand has an outlet here).
But others were sampling international fare: there was pizza from Pizza Hut, a burrito bowl from a Taco Bell stall, Indian thalis from Punjab Grill, even shawarmas from the Blue Nile kiosk.
True to the mall’s promise, from my favorite comfort shawarma to a new sushi venture, it had it all.
The kid next to me was contentedly slurping Maggie, and the food blogger across the hall was photographing a fancy salad bowl. It was a foodie’s paradise.
And the best part? With all those choices, there’s something for everyone.
In my party of two, one of us could opt for dasi’s South Indian meal (MTR Express) while the other had sandwiches from Subway.
We reconvened happily in the middle with our spoils. Win-win!
The only downside: I had so many options, my brain froze trying to choose.
Pro tip: go with two friends and split all the dishes; then you won’t miss any of the ten kitchens.
Shop Till You Drop on the High Street

(Source: Bhartiya Mall of Bengaluru Facebook Page)
Bellies happy, it was time to shop. And oh boy, the High Street (the fashionable pedestrian street inside the mall) did not disappoint.
This is where I met my shopaholic self.
It’s lined with nearly every big brand store you know and love.
I could hop from Allen Solly to Pantaloons, drop by Van Heusen, and even swing through Westside and Marks & Spencer without stepping outdoors.
Honestly, the first time I spotted an H&M, I audibly gasped (I’m that person).
Between souvenirs and wardrobe staples, I snared a couple of deals: a cute summer dress at Lifestyle, sneakers at Puma’s outlet, and, okay fine, a toy for my niece at the local BigLilPeople pop-up (it’s a double store full of kids’ fashion).
It’s true what they say: if you have a passion for fashion, this street’s got your name on it.
In other words, a day of shopping here can easily turn into an evening.
Just watch your bank balance. Trust me, I know.
Of course, it’s not just clothes.
I also found essentials: a new water bottle at a sports shop, a cap at a Nike store, and even the latest novel at Crossword (yay, some reading material for later!).
The variety is impressive: apparel, electronics, home decor, you name it.
The mall lists plenty of major names (Shoppers Stop, Westside, Levi’s, Manyavar, etc.), so if you’re out scouting, there’s a high chance you’ll find what you need.
If you can’t find it, check Market Street next (see below).
Taking a Breather: Central Park & Market Street

(Source: Bhartiya Mall of Bengaluru Facebook Page)
Shopping high can be exhausting, so I’m glad I stumbled upon the Central Park at the mall’s heart. Yes, a park inside a mall!
Picture this: benches, lush plants, and even a little lawn area.
I sat there between my shopping sprees, sipping lemonade and feeling far from the chaos.
It was great for a quick unplugging. I could just stare at the green, scroll Instagram, or people-watch.
Once rejuvenated, I felt ready for round two.
Round two turned out to be Market Street, a charming one-way alley lined with fun shopping kiosks and pop-up stalls.
This place has more of a bazaar vibe. It’s perfect for discovering quirky finds.
I hopped between a stall selling handmade mugs, one with scented candles, and another with funky sunglasses.
There was even a small dessert cart doing flavored popcorn.
I helped myself to a bag (the salted caramel was divine).
The energy here felt joyful, almost like a festival market planted inside a mall.
Market Street also proved useful: if a main brand store missed my taste, often a Market kiosk had something similar at bargain prices.
For example, I couldn’t find just the right tote bag on High Street, but at Market Street, I found an artisan stall with beautiful handcrafted totes. Score!
Movies and More: Entertainment & Family Fun

(Source: Bhartiya Mall of Bengaluru Facebook Page)
You didn’t think Bhartiya Mall was only about shops and cafes, did you?
Nope, there’s also PVR Cinemas inside, a full multiplex!
It just opened recently, so you can catch all the latest blockbusters right here.
I toyed with the idea of watching a film but decided to save that for next time (spoiler: I’ll be back).
Beyond the silver screen, the mall truly caters to families: there’s a kids’ play area with rides and games (even bungee jumping for the thrill-seekers!).
I saw toddlers having a blast on mini carousels and a teen gaming on an arcade machine.
One mom next to me exulted that her daughter “was so excited to visit this mall because of the kids’ play area”.
Trust me, if you have kids (or are a big kid at heart), this place keeps boredom at bay.
They even have events, concerts, magic shows, and whatnot on special weekends, keeping the vibe lively.
For adults, aside from the terrace gigs, there are practical services too: ATMs, baby-change rooms, wheelchair-friendly ramps… you name it.
I appreciated the 24/7 security vibe as well (there are cameras everywhere), so strolling around at night felt safe.
Basically, whether I’m grabbing a coffee solo or hanging with friends/family, this mall had everything covered.
Tips, Offers, and Practicalities

(Source: Bhartiya Mall of Bengaluru Facebook Page)
By now, you’re probably adding “Visit Bhartiya Mall” to your weekend to-do list.
Here are a few pro tips from my visit:
- Parking & Arrival: It’s easiest to drive in (plenty of car and two-wheeler parking, some of which is even free). The mall is just off Thanisandra Main Road in Bhartiya City. If you’re new to North Bangalore, GPS works well. Public transport gets you in the general area, but the last mile is best by cab or bike.
- Best Times: Weekdays are blissfully calm. I went on a Friday afternoon, and it was pleasantly uncrowded. On weekends, it gets busier (especially evenings), but it’s still not packed like some city malls. Also, their hours are generous: 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM every day, so you’ve got lots of time to explore.
- Foodie Must-Tries: Don’t miss the Terrace (especially in the evening, for the cool breeze). In the food court, personally, I’d hit MTR Express for a South Indian feast or Toscano for Italian pizzas. And Zomoz is a quirky kiosk with stuffed toasts that’s become my new guilty pleasure.
- Shopping Hacks: Know that the mall has both big international brands and local boutiques, plus Market Street finds. If you’re hunting for something specific (say electronics or toys), check their website’s store directory.
- Deals & Offers: Keep an eye on their official site and social media – they often have seasonal sales and festival deals. For example, during recent festivals, I noticed discounts at stores like Shoppers Stop and Myntra pop-ups. Also, some food outlets let you use the Bhartiya City rewards card for extra points (I scored a free scoop of ice cream one day!).
- Family Friendly: Yes, bring the kids and (if you must) even your pets – well, the mall itself isn’t officially pet-friendly, but outside in the Bhartiya City complex, there are open spaces. However, hint: I saw someone once sneak a tiny puppy in a stroller on the Terrace (shhh 🤫).
- Connectivity: The mall offers free Wi-Fi at its help desks. I was scrolling Instagram in Central Park while sipping my lemonade, so no data drama mid-shopping.
- Relax Spots: Don’t underestimate the Central Park area. I went there twice just to chill on a bench for five minutes. No one bothered me as I stretched out; it’s literally a “pause between the play” zone – perfect if you need a breather before round two of shopping.

Frequently Asked Questions
When is Bhartiya Mall open?
Every day! It opens at 10:00 AM and closes at 10:00 PM (yes, even Sundays, so you can make it a weekend outing).
What food options are there?
Basically, anything you want. From quick bites to full meals – international chains (McDonald’s, KFC, Pizza Hut), boutique cafes (Starbucks, Toscano for Italian), and local delights (tangy Chaat Adda snacks, North Indian grills). Check out the mall’s map or [online directory] – it lists 20+ eateries across cuisines.
What shops are at the mall?
It’s a mix of everything: clothing stores (H&M, Allen Solly, Manyavar, Pepe Jeans, and more), accessories, cosmetics, home décor, even toys (BigLilPeople, Hamleys pop-up), and books (Crossword). If you’re after groceries or daily needs, there’s also a Reliance Smart Mart in the basement. In short, it’s got plenty of stores for every budget.
Is it kid-friendly?
Absolutely! There’s a dedicated kids’ zone with rides and games, plus the open spaces are great for stroller rides. Families throng here (I overheard parents planning birthdays in the party room, too). Changing rooms and a babysitting facility are on site. In fact, one reviewer said their daughter was “so excited” to visit because of the kids’ play area.
How’s the parking/traffic?
Parking is plentiful (as I mentioned). Two-wheelers park free, and cars have both free and paid lots. Traffic on Thanisandra Road can be busy during rush hour, so allow a little extra time when coming from the city. Once inside, valet or self-park – either works.
Any tips for visiting?
Weekdays are quieter, so plan that if crowds bug you. Also, wear comfy shoes – the mall is fairly large, and between High Street and Market Street, you could easily clock 10,000 steps (I counted 😅). Oh, and don’t forget your phone charger. There are charging stations, but you’ll thank yourself for plugging in.
Ready, Set, Go!
All in all, Bhartiya Mall of Bengaluru is more than just a mall. It’s an experience.
From leisurely brunches under the sky to surprise street markets and cosy cinema evenings, it has something for everyone.
If your weekend is feeling ho-hum, I highly recommend turning it around here.
Trust me, after one visit, you’ll be comparing your weekend plans to this place (“Hmm… movie at home or another round of wings at Barbeque Nation?”).
So why not?
Check their website for the latest offers and events (the mall often runs fun contests and seasonal promos), grab your shopping list, and head over to Bhartiya City.
Maybe I’ll see you there (I’m the one savoring espresso at The Coffee Brewery, pretending to be on vacation).
Happy exploring and shopping (but hey, don’t buy my favorite shoes before I do)!
