Now, I’ve eaten my fair share of ice cream around Bangalore (for “research” purposes, of course 😉), but what LICK does is on another level.

It’s not just about ice cream. It’s an experience.

Funky flavours that make you raise an eyebrow (and then grin ear to ear), decadent sundaes that look like they were styled for a Netflix special, and even little frozen treats for your furry buddies.

The very first time I walked up to LICK, I honestly thought I’d taken a wrong turn and landed in a candy-coloured film set.

The pink and red triangle-shaped exterior looks like it was designed by someone who binge-watched Wes Anderson movies while overdosing on gelato.

And clearly, I wasn’t the only one impressed. The queue outside was longer than the one at my neighbourhood ATM on the first of the month.

Step inside, and it’s a different kind of chaos, the good kind.

The place is buzzing with energy: kids hopping around like they’ve just mainlined sugar, adults suddenly acting like kids (because, let’s be real, ice cream has that effect), and couples trying to “romantically” share a sundae while secretly plotting to hog the last bite.

The seating is clever too.

Indoors, you’ve got bright, airy spaces that make you feel like you’re in an ice cream art gallery.

Outdoors, you’ve got a breezy spot where you can lounge with friends, people-watch, or quietly judge those who order just one scoop (seriously, who does that?).

Add the pet-friendly section, and this place instantly feels less like an ice cream parlour and more like a playground for literally everyone.

Here’s where things get interesting.

I started off bravely, because why play safe with Vanilla when the menu dares you with Watermelon Feta?

• Watermelon Feta – Sweet, juicy, salty — sounds like a relationship status update, but works surprisingly well as ice cream.
• Avocado Toast – Comes with a tiny slice of sourdough. Who knew brunch could sneak into a gelato tub? Smooth, creamy, and oddly satisfying.
• Tomato Strawberry Burrata Sorbet – Tangy, sweet, with a balsamic drizzle. I’m still not over how this was both confusing and delicious at the same time.

For those of us who like to stick to the classics:

• Hazelnut Rocher = Ferrero Rocher in frozen form.
• Pistachio = Rich, nutty perfection (and yes, the nuts are top quality).
• Pecan Pie = My personal favourite. Chewy, crunchy, fudgy… basically, happiness in a cup.

If scoops are the warm-up act, the sundaes are the main event.

• Chocolate Resurrection – Layers of ice cream, gooey chocolate cake, mousse, crumble, mud, sauce, and foam. Basically, a chocolate lover’s full-blown resurrection story. Hallelujah!
• Beach Party – Coconut tres leches base, tropical sorbet, toasted coconut gelato, pineapple snow, popping bobas, and yes, a cocktail umbrella. Basically, a vacation without the visa hassle.
• The Playground – Vanilla, mango, donuts, Swiss rolls, marshmallows, cotton candy… It’s like your childhood birthday party came back, but cooler.

By this point, my diet plan had waved a white flag and walked out of the building.

Drinks & More: Because You Can’t Survive on Ice Cream Alone (Or Can You?)

Okay, confession: I could 100% survive on ice cream alone.

But LICK, being the overachiever it is, has more up its sleeve than just scoops and sundaes.

Think mocktails that refresh, coffees that perk you up, and shakes so thick you could probably use them as dumbbells.

I tried their berry yoghurt drink, and just when I thought, “oh, it’s a healthy choice,” the panna cotta base hit me like a sweet surprise.

It was like ordering a salad and finding fries hidden at the bottom. Zero complaints from my side.

The coffee options also deserve a shoutout.

They’ve clearly kept us caffeine addicts in mind, because nothing says balance like alternating between espresso and ice cream scoops.

And if you’re in the mood to feel fancy without the hangover, the mocktails here are as colourful and fun as the flavours themselves.

Basically, if ice cream is the star of the show, the drinks are the best supporting cast. Stealing scenes in their own right.

Pet Parents, Rejoice: Drool Bowls Are a Thing

Now, this part melted my heart faster than a scoop of gelato in Bangalore’s April heat.

LICK didn’t just stop at making humans happy. They went all out for our four-legged companions, too.

Enter the Drool Bowls: adorable frozen treats made with fruits, peanut butter, and other dog-safe goodies.

When I first saw it on the menu, I thought, “aww, how cute.”

Then I saw an entire section of dogs sitting there, tails wagging, eyes wide, waiting for their bowls. And suddenly it clicked.

This isn’t just pet-friendly, this is pet-inclusive dessert dining.

My dog gave it two licks of approval (pun very much intended).

And here’s the thing. I may or may not have stolen a tiny bite. Don’t judge.

Turns out, they’re good enough for humans too (though I’d suggest sticking to your Pecan Pie scoop if you want fewer side-eyes from your pup).

Honestly, seeing the dogs go nuts (pun not intended this time) over their frozen bowls just added to the vibe.

It’s wholesome, it’s fun, and it makes you feel less guilty about indulging.
